Environmental Policy

Johnstech International recognizes that balancing non-financial factors such as environmental and social issues with manufacturing priorities is an essential part of good corporate citizenship.  A healthy environment is necessary for the well-being of society, our people and our business.  It is the foundation for a sustainable and strong economy.  The key challenge for society is to manage the competing human demands on land, soil and vegetation without undermining crucial ecosystem functions. 

We recognize that the policies and practices we adopt today will shape not only our lives but also those of future generations. We therefore have an opportunity to make a positive contribution to the environment by enacting policies designed so that our business operations do not degrade the environmental stewardship, but also present business opportunities such as innovative products and investments in sustainable forestry and renewable energy.  This will help us better manage our risks, attract and retain critical talent, develop expertise, and provide customers with solutions to evolving exposures.

We have made considerable progress in meeting our objectives.  Most importantly, our people have demonstrated tremendous enthusiasm and interest in the myriad of issues related to the interaction of our business activities and the environment.  We have integrated environmental concerns into production of our products.  Johnstech embraced the move to eliminate lead from the semiconductor industry by addressing production issues of testing lead-free devices.  We have made significant progress in decreasing customers waste and improving their performance by improving overall production yields by 2-7%, eliminating up to 10% of customer testing requirements, while providing the customer opportunities to significantly reduce their electrical consumption.  We successfully implemented RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliance thereby insuring our products are RoHS compliant.  We made improvements in our processes while working with suppliers to help implement RoHS compliant processes to manufacture parts.
